Ladies and Gentlemen, dear colleagues,
The EU Strategy for the Danube Region Priority Area 10 ”Institutional Capacity Building and Cooperation” organises a meeting aimed at raising the awareness of city and regional administrations, policy makers and NGO’s of their role in the fight against the trafficking in human beings. Cities should be supported to develop and participate in mechanisms at EU, national, transnational, regional and city level that foster cooperation and coordination, while putting victims of trafficking as rights holders to the centre of such cooperation. Using practical examples, the round-table will illustrate and develop actions and activities leading to the development of projects that could help cities in their task of fighting human trafficking, while also starting to cooperate amongst each other.
Guiding questions of the meeting will be:
- How can effective cooperation of different partners at city and macro-regional (transnational) level to combat human trafficking look like?
- How can the particular situation of vulnerable groups be addressed at city level?
- Who needs to be involved and what are the next steps?
An initiative of EUSDR Priority Area 10 – Institutional Capacity Building and Cooperation in cooperation with the Human Rights Office of the City of Vienna and the Regional Implementation Initiative on prevention and combating Human Trafficking.
Registration is now open: firstname.lastname@example.org. A detailed agenda will follow as soon as possible.
Please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Böhm-Gartner or Daniela Urschitz if you have further questions!
