The idea of flow is to find and open new channels of communication, and to set up a new network of artists and scientists that brings the countries of the Danube Region closer together: Austria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, and Ukraine.
Every two years, flow takes place in a different city, making a local impact and presenting the local arts and science community. This initiative is designed to produce direct and long-term connections between individuals in different fields of culture and science. The core of the festival is sustainable conversation and networking with concrete outcomes. Its aim is to initiate multinational, interdisciplinary projects in diverse fields.
The first edition of our flow festival successfully took place in Novi Sad (Serbia) in May 2008, the second one in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova) in September 2010. In October 2012, flow came to Ruse (Bulgaria). One essential part of flow 2012 was the common creative work on different subtopics in several working groups.
